Looks like after all the mess surrounding Detroit's mayor Kwame Kilpatrick he has finally decided to admit he was wrong. The mayor and his former top aide Christine Beatty were charged in March with perjury, misconduct and obstruction of justice. They're accused of lying under oath about the affair and their roles in the firing of a deputy police chief. Even after damaging text messages involving the two surfaced, a stripper party using state resources (the exposed stripper then turned up dead..coincidence much!), using employees to stand guard while the two committed adulterous acts he still believed he wouldn't have to step down.
Well that belief just slapped him in the face and also will cost him $1 million in restitution plus four months in jail. City Council President Ken Cockrel Jr. will succeed Kilpatrick as mayor until a special election is held.
Damn it sucks to be the mayor right now. I know his wife gotta be pissed right now after that public statement downplaying the situation and "Standing by her Husband". What a fuckin joke!
